It’s time to introduce another one of our incredible board members! Dorothy Clay…. Is a native Texan born in the heart of San Antonio, TX.  She has two children, a son and a daughter. They have blessed her with 6 beautiful grandchildren. Dorothy’s home town is Wichita Falls, TX where she graduated from high school and started college.  After getting a job transfer with the Texas Department of Health and Human Services to Abilene, TX, she attended Abilene Christian University and received a Masters of Science and Social Work degree. She’s always loved assisting families and children. Dorothy has been on many boards and is always seeking to make the community a better place for everyone!! She says,” It is my pleasure and honor to be on the Jerrin's Hope board to raise awareness about the crisis of fentanyl and assist in preventing more deaths among our youth and all those who are in a crisis situation.” We are more than lucky to have her as a part of Jerrin’s Hope…We! Are!! Blessed!!!

Ariel Marrs was born and raised in Texas. She graduated from Bronte High School and attended Abilene Christian University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and minored in Biblical Text. In Ariel’s current profession, she is active in finding extracurricular work supporting charity efforts benefitting schoolchildren, the elderly, the homeless, those fleeing abusive relationships, and LGBTQ+ communities, bringing awareness to causes that affect millions of people every day, and more! She says, “Too many of the things teenagers do are based around struggling with identity and coping silently with mental health. I do not want this to be a silent battle any longer. I hope not only to raise awareness about the fentanyl crisis and other substances, but to destigmatize mental healthcare as a part of treating the whole person. I want to prevent further deaths, want each young person in crisis to understand there are resources, there is help, and there is hope, if only they look for the light.”
